Meet The Advisory Council Members

David Gascon
David J. Gascon is a retired Assistant Chief of Police of the Los Angeles Police Department where he served in a variety of critical assignments, culminating in a lengthy tenure as the Chief of Staff. Gascon was a nationally recognized and highly respected Los Angeles Police Department Executive. He retired after nearly 32 years of service in late 2002. As a Police Officer, he was an undercover narcotics officer, patrol officer, and senior training officer. Gascon is the Chair of the Board of Directors of USA Diving (USAD), the official United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC) National Governing Body for the sport of diving, since. September 2019.

Dr. Robert Goldman
Dr. Goldman holds two physician and surgeon medical degrees and two medical doctorates. He has served as a Senior Fellow at the Lincoln Filene Center at Tufts University, and as an affiliate at the Philosophy of Education Research Center, Graduate School of Education, Harvard University. Dr. Goldman has served as Chairman of the International Medical Commission. He has visited dozens of nations with a focus on youth mentorship.

Dr. Leslie Wheaton
Dr. Leslie Wheaton has over three decades of experience providing leadership, support, and guidance to individuals, teams, organizations, and educational systems first as a teacher and an administrator and then as an International Director. Dr. Leslie Wheaton holds a B.A. from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and an M.A. in Education from San Francisco State University and the University of Washington respectively. Her administrative credential is from the University of Washington’s Danforth Program. Each of her degrees has concentrations/focuses in neuroscience and policy analysis. She received her Educational Doctorate in Organizational Change and Leadership from the University of Southern California.
